I am a really big Guitar Hero fan. I've started with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the Nintendo Wii right on release date. I really loved the game and bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith when it came out for the PS3. Now that Guitar Hero World Tour was about to be released, I pre-ordered the super bundle (with guitar, microphone and drumms) two days before release since I could get it for a nice price (EUR 179.99).
Today it got delivered, and I was overjoyed to have it in my home on the dutch release date (21st of november). After playing around with the drums (I love them, great fun!), I decided to go hit the guitar, since that is what I'm pretty good at, if I say so myself.
After doing the tutorial (wanted to see what the new buttons in the guitar neck did and how it worked), I noticed that my strumbar just doesn't register when I strum down. I hoped it was a tutorial bug, but in the game itself, it also doens't register. It sounds ok though, it makes the same clicking sound, but it just won't register. Since I used to play just strumming down, this is a really annoying thing to me. After searching the net, I've found out that more people are having this problem.
I'll contact my supplier and see what we can do about this.
Update
Good news! While I was playing, I noticed that when I hit the small round dial by accident while using the whammy bar to rack up extra start power, the note failed, as if you accidentally hit the strum bar again. After playing around, I've found that you can use this dial as a strum bar! Easy up and down strumming, even if your strum bar doesn't work as it should! It also doesn't produce that annoying clicking sound as an added bonus!
I will probably still send my guitar back for a swap, but still, it's nice to be able to play the songs till I ship it back. Hope you found this usefull!
