Activision released Call of Duty 5: World at War recently, and like most games, has been plagued with problems, ranging from crashes wich can be solved by disabling modem devices (how nice :P) to problems with multiple sound cards or sample rates.

The problem I have encountered is the fact that after the game is installed, for some reason the game is not able to create a default profile, nor does it prompt you for one. The solution was pretty simple, but it required unhiding hidden files, deleting and editing files. For some users, this can be scary, so I created a program to do all of this for you.

The tool is pretty easy; fill in a user name and press the 'Create Profile and Fix My Problem!'  button. Once you do so, the application will prompt you to check if you are sure (on a normal working game install, this program will delete your profiles and saved games, so don't 'play' with it if you have a well working game experience).

After the fix has been applied, you are asked if you want to run the game right away.

Once in-game, you will notice that where it used to say just 'Offline:', it will now show your username. One this I might want to add is that you cannot enter spaces in your profile name. The program will allow you to enter anything you want, but the game won't accept it, so keep it a single name without spaces or weird characters.

I have tested this on Vista, but it should work on Windows XP aswel. Feel free to send me your feedback via the site (click the 'ABOUT' link to get a feedback form).

It is true! If you have had the Singleplayer problem of not getting the game to start, just clicking on Mission select and nothing realy happening, THIS file is the answer!

So, just get it and it will make your COD-WAW work, no joke!

for all people who have the problem of not starting the game and can not make a profile at the piratebay is a so called PROFILE FIX i used it an dit works great

It's been quite some time since the initial release of this tool, and I am glad so many of you out there have found it helpfull. Especially when I uploaded it to the Pirate Bay, things really started to get insane in terms of number of downloads.

I recently updated the Newsleecher Server Password Recovery application and was messing around with the SuperSearch. When I entered 'nkcss' I found that someone even found it worth the effort to share it with the rest of the NNTP users, which is an honor in my humble opinion.
