I just watched this channel 10 piece on the new Microsoft Auto software. One thing stood out: while showing the car, he demonstrated the voice activated phone by "call Bill Gates", and then quickly hung up uttering the works "...better hang up before I get fired...” There are a few nice features, but controlling computers by voice still isn't at the level we want it to be. As for the text2speech engine they used; it sounded horrible, nothing like the AT&T Natural Voices SDK I used in one of my programs a few years back.
