A few days ago, I was out of things to watch, and decided to hit up TV.com to check out some of the new shows that were launched last year in the United States. What I noticed was that there were a lot of death-related shows. Reaper is one of these shows. While the short description of the show was somewhat weird, I decided to give it a shot. After watching the first nine episodes, I'm totally hooked. The show is a comedy show about a boy who never finishes anything. A boy who was free to do as he pleased, without any resistance from his parents. A boy whose soul was sold to the devil by those same parents before he even was born....

The parents aren't some evil and cruel people. The dad was terminally ill and the devil came by and offered him a cure in turn for the soul of their first born when he reaches the age of 21. They took the deal and decided to just now have kids. No kids; no soul for the devil to take. But then it happened, and they had two children.

One of the main characters in this series is the oh so cute Melissa Peregrym. That alone might warrant watching an episode or two... The devil is played by Ray Wise and does a terrific job. His suave 50's/gangster look are a perfect match.
